My name is David Beauchamp (pronounced B-chum). I have recently joined the Family Policy Alliance of Kansas® team as the Director of Church Engagement. Family Policy Alliance of Kansas is dedicated to advancing biblical citizenship through equipping and electing statesmen, promoting policy, working with an effective alliance of state-based and national partners and amplifying the voice of pro-family citizens. We are committed to building a Kansas in which God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.
I come from a pastoral background and still consider my primary role as being a pastor. After completing my seminary degree in Texas, I started my pastoral journey in 1990 by pastoring a small church in Illinois. I then served as an Army chaplain from 1992 until my retirement as a Colonel in 2015. Most recently I’ve been a part of a church plant in Leavenworth, Kansas, serving as their Care Pastor and then as their Next Steps Pastor, and regularly sharing the Sunday message as well.
I have been married to Debbie for over 37 years. We have four children and six grandchildren. In my role as the Director of Church Engagement, Debbie will join me regularly. Our vision is that Kansas is a state where over half the churches are actively involved in “Biblical Citizenship.” Basically, this means that a church is involved in praying, being informed about policy issues that are aligned with biblical values and supporting Family Policy Alliance of Kansas through giving or volunteering.
We view Biblical Citizenship as a component of being a disciple and being a witness for Jesus. To support this vision, I plan to share an “eNewsletter” about once per month regarding issues that are occurring in Topeka and aournd the state.
